DIVERSE RANGE OF COURSES
Over 20 A Level courses provide the foundations of a traditional path with a deeper dive into particular subject areas. Pupils generally study the equivalent of three or four A Levels over the two years they spend in the Sixth Form.
We also offer BTEC and Cambridge Technical courses at Ashville. These are vocational qualifications, combining practical skills with subject and theory content.
Further courses can be added as part of the pathways so you are fully future ready.

ASSESSMENT AND PROGRESS
Each half-term, you will sit four milestone assessments in your academic subjects (two per subject teacher). These assessments allow teachers to mentor you. Alongside these assessments there will be a number of exam weeks to ensure that when you reach the final examination period you feel comfortable and ready.
Small class sizes allow our dedicated Sixth Form Tutors to tailor teaching to your specific needs. Our average Sixth Form Tutor to pupil ratio is 1:8.
SUPER-Curricular OPPORTUNITIES
There are many super-curricular opportunities to explore academic subjects further. Guest speaker sessions, entry to competitions and learning outside of the classroom with academic trips, form part of life in Six @ Ashville.
You can choose the full Scholars Pathway that may include an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) or take on a MOOC qualification or Harvard Short Course and more. However, everyone is encouraged to attend the inspirational Ashville Lecture Series and guest speaker programme. Sally Bolton, Old Ashvillian and the former CEO of Wimbledon, joined us recently.
Our Scholarship Programme looks to identify pupils joining Year 7 who have excellent potential academically or in music, art, drama and sport.
GLOBAL POSSIBiLITIES
For our international pupils and British pupils who may be looking at a US university, you can achieve the US High School Diploma and our Director of International Studies is available to give advice and mentoring opportunities. Ashville is the only independent school in the North of England to offer this option.
Many international and more local trips take place to explore the curriculum, cement learning and expand your horizons.
