Your Future Starts Here

Within Early Years there are two stages. Dedicated spaces for each age group, with free-flow to extensive outdoor spaces, include areas ready for your child to get creative, make believe, build, play and enjoy quiet time and stories. At each stage, we offer a high-quality education that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.Enquire Now
little acorns age 2-3
Your child can join Little Acorns as soon as they are 2 years old. Your child will explore, grow and develop in an interesting and welcoming environment which has been carefully designed with our youngest children in mind. Our specialist early years practitioners will ensure that every child's care and learning needs are met so that you feel comfortable passing them from your caring arms to ours.
Staff focus on three prime areas of learning:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development.

acorns age 3-4
Acorns welcomes children from the age of 3 and is housed in a light, airy space with access to extensive outdoor play spaces. There is a mix of child-initiated and adult-led learning in Acorns, and we will tailor our teaching to the interests of individual pupils.
Enquiry-based learning is encouraged through a wide range of resources which enable learning through play along with quality input from our experienced practitioners who support children to extend their thinking through careful observation.
Staff continue to focus on the three prime areas of learning and strengthen that development while introducing children to more specific areas of learning:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive Art and Design
We use a wide range of activities to allow children to develop their personal and social skills through a variety of exciting and fun activities.
Acorns staff provide a language-rich environment where communication and interactions form the foundations for language and cognitive development. The children enjoy a large outdoor, free-flow play area with opportunities for physical development and for experiencing the natural world.
trips and enrichment days
School trips, themed days, events and visiting speakers are woven into the curriculum to engage and inspire pupils and are an integral part of the Ashville Education. Acorns have recently been on trips to Born of the Forest and Harlow Carr and celebrated special days such as Earth Day.

Strong links between Acorns and Reception allow for seamless transition and opportunities to come together to learn and play.
