Pre-Prep
Beyond The Classroom
A wide-range of extra-curricular activities enriches the taught curriculum. We are fortunate to benefit from excellent facilities and dedicated staff enabling us to offer fifteen additional activities.
Speech and Drama is taught by a specialist; it helps the children to grow in confidence when speaking in front of an audience. They take part in the Harrogate Festival each year and are entered for their LAMDA exams.
Violin is also taught by a specialist peripatetic teacher and the children make rapid progress. Again they perform in assemblies and at concerts throughout the year. All the children in the Pre-Prep School attend a dance lesson each week, whilst ballet is offered after school each Friday.
The children in Year 2 benefit from the expertise of a visiting tennis coach and all children, from Reception to Year 2 swim each week in the College swimming pool, which is close by.
The Pre-Prep garden is also another key feature of the school. Children learn to care for and show a responsibility for the environment. The children grow, harvest (and eat!) a wide range of fruit and vegetables.
We also benefit from a spacious play area and outdoor climbing equipment, including a pirate ship.

Headmistress Welcome
At Ashville Pre-Prep School we believe that creating positive childhood memories is just as important as building solid foundations for future development.
The educational experience should be stimulating and challenging but above all, in these vital early years, it must be happy and secure.
