Friends of Ashville

What do the Friends of Ashville do?

Friends of Ashville is the parental group who support Ashville College by fund raising through events which include the School Bonfire, Shopping Evenings, Quiz Night, the School Ball and the Summer Fair.

Friends of Ashville also run the second hand uniform shop.

What does the money raised fund?

The money raised funds projects which will enhance or broaden pupils’ education. The projects funded benefit pupils over an extended period of time and are accessible to the widest number of pupils possible.

Recent Projects funded by the Friends of Ashville

• an adventure playground for Pre-Prep School
• a new library for Junior School
• equipment for the Soothill Hall
• new archery equipment
• new computer chairs for the boarding houses
• the climbing wall in the new sports hall
• disc golf equipment
• and many other projects around the school.

The Shop

The second hand uniform shop is situated in the hut next to the Senior School main entrance. The shop is run by an enthusiastic, voluntary group of parents and is open on Friday afternoons during term time, plus additional opening times on special occasions.

The shop is well worth a visit for advice and for good quality second hand uniform clothing at very reasonable prices. As parents of children attending Ashville College you are automatically members of the Friends of Ashville and entitled to use the shop. Parents give up a couple of hours a term to run the shop. New volunteers are always welcome and it is a great way to meet new people and make friends.

Opening Times

Every Friday afternoon in term time: 3.30 - 4.30 pm

School Outfitters:

Rawcliffes are the school outfitters. Their shop is based at Rawcliffes Corner, East Parade, Harrogate (Tel: 01423 504130).
