International Students

Ashville is home to approximately seventy students of varying ages, from sixteen different countries. They have recognised that an education at a UK boarding school and in particular Ashville, will prepare them to meet the demands and opportunities of the global economy. The boarding team recognise the uncertainty and nervousness that both the students and their parents may feel prior to commencing at the school. Consequently extensive support, guidance and communication is given throughout their stay.

The school provides transport to and from the regional airports at the beginning and end of each term to ensure the safe movement of students. When students begin their study, they participate in an induction programme which aims to make them feel comfortable, build up early friendships and provide guidance on subject choices and learning styles in the classroom.

For many, English is an additional language and all students are provided with extra support within the curriculum and each academic department works closely with the EAL teachers, to ensure maximum progress of each individual student. A level students benefit from extensive university and career advice and many of our overseas students access the very top universities.

Outside the classroom, all students are able to benefit from a wide and stimulating extra-curricular programme, which helps develop a range of social and personal skills. The school is very aware of the cultural and dietary needs of all international students and these are more than exceeded. All students have the opportunity to contribute to developments in these areas.
