The Boarding Week

Daily Routine

On a daily basis, it is not much different to the routine you would follow at home. The staff wake you up between 7–7.30am so you can get ready for breakfast. Once it is time for school, you leave the boarding house and become a student like everyone else. You take what you need with you and don’t come back to the house until the end of the working day. After school you may be practising sport, rehearsing for a performance or involved in a club activity. After dinner, you’ll do prep and after that you are free until bedtime.

Weekend Routine

At weekends many of our boarders are involved in Saturday sports fixtures, either playing in teams or watching home matches. There is transport into town at different times of the day so you can go shopping, and Sixth Formers can visit Leeds. On Saturday evenings, older students can go into Harrogate to the cinema or for a pizza.

During the winter months, you will get a lie-in on Sunday before brunch. There is an activities programme in the afternoon which includes 10-pin bowling, golf, swimming, riding, music practice, art, badminton and basketball.

Sunday worship takes place after supper, which helps to cement the sense of community among boarders.

Activities and Trips

There is an activity programme every weekend which includes tenpin bowling, golf, swimming, riding, music practice, cooking, art, badminton, basketball and lots more !
