The Ethos

Mind, body and soul

In line with the Methodist traditions of our college, we aim to be a caring Christian community that is committed to developing the potential of every individual. In class we encourage pupils to examine the standards and values of society and develop both a personal credo and principles to guide them throughout their lives.

Responsibility

One of the key principles that underpin Ashville College is that of responsibility. We encourage students to be accountable for themselves and for the well being of others in the community. We also encourage them to accept responsibility for their academic performance from a very early age. We want them to take their studies seriously and be proud of their achievements.

Bringing education to life

Hard work doesn’t equate with a dull or stuffy atmosphere. We bring education to life. Visit our Pre-Prep and Junior Schools and you will see the degree of engagement our teachers achieve with even the youngest pupils. At a more senior level the commitment and energy of our teaching staff ensures that this degree of enthusiasm is maintained even when exams are looming. As well as being experienced and well qualified in their respective fields, our teachers have a passion for learning, which they communicate to our students.

Learning to excel

We believe that every child can excel at something, so we offer the broadest possible range of cultural, sporting and extra–curricular activities to help them find their niche.

Creativity and self-expression

Two of the greatest gifts children have are their imagination and creativity. We encourage all our pupils to build on these gifts, both in class and in their spare time.
